FTWgl.com | TS | Preseason | [I] vs *THC* | 2-0 | 20100727

(iclan advances to invite section)
On Sunday, we won our preseason ctf game
despite the fact that... -We had to pay kbar to join us for ctf -We have only ever scrimmed ctf twice before -We had only played tohunga once, in a ctf scrim with |fn| the same day as the match. -Slackin decided to play ctf with [T]
-Boozle went to a rave or some shit instead of playing the match. -Crappy left 5 mins before the match saying "mom is bad, be back 8:50", which led to us paying kbar
(I like loops, ya dig?)
Now, we move onto a bigger and better game mode: Team Survivor.
Quite frankly, I don't know what the hell is going to happen after actually winning ctf, a match in which no rage occurred and we used teamwork (two very rare occasions). While we certainly have the individual skill to out-snipe and out-auto the players on THC, will we be able to band together as a team, not rage, and lead ourselves to victory?
Besides our teamwork problems, another situation I may be concerned with is, if we win the first round...will we become overconfident and fall apart in the second round?
As Kronic said on the forums "If [I] starts goofing around...then THC may have a chance" (paraphrased), and while I usually disagree with Kronic, and while a lot of what he has said has proven to be false, I actually completely agree with him. If we stay focused and work as a team, I think we'll pretty much wipe out THC. On the other hand, if we start getting sloppy... I think THC has the potential to win.
This brings us to the relative value of winning this preseason match. For a young team, which we both are (THC's referral as young alluding to this latest reincarnation), is it worth playing through the open section as a matter of practice and "earning your spurs"? Could in fact losing this preseason be a winning strategy for the season? I spoke with THC regarding and we agreed they would throw the match. Thats right we put the urt union screws on those godless stoners. They went on to say playing sanc was a clan strong suit and perhaps el hefe Vortex might make an appearance - if he can stop chasing hookers. We wonder about the loss of Cam to the lineup, but they have more than enough members to subout most teams to death.

FTWgl.com | CTF | Preseason | [I] vs /eVo/ | 2-0 | 20100725 | demos
Eagerly anticipated shenanigans? Of course fucking of course. We delivered
in true iclan fashion. In an emotionally charged preceding week we looked clan
death straight in the face and almost had to withdraw from competition.
Like any modern dysfunctional family we fought like rabid animals, made bust
videos on each other, multiple sightings of raging and poor performance in
scrims, M.I.A., random bans from ts3/forums and plain disillusion with urban terror
in general. Mere hours before game started we found out plazma would be able to
play this season and nomercy would still be banned for another season. Slackin
had gotten fed up with our distain for ctf in general and ended up playing with
TeamTerror..will he rejoin us for the season? Nodoby knows. Kbar, who had already
agreed to join /eVo/ for the season, in a suprise upset left his team just
minutes before the start and played with us in our first ftw ctf win...
